Early in this year, The Seven Network and Fox Sports jointly won a bid to broadcast the Australian cricket summer for the next six years by signing a deal with Cricket Australia (CA) for $1.182 billion. That deal made a history in the Australian cricket as it has ended the four-decade-long journey with Channel 9.

While the Fox Sports has scheduled to broadcast all the home international matches, both men and women’s cricket, Channel 7 has scheduled to broadcast all the home international matches of women’s cricket and only men’s Test. Apart from those international matches, both have scheduled to broadcast both the Big Bash League (BBL) and Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) too.

After the completion of the limited-overs home contest against South Africa, Australian cricket’s big home assignment against India is going to start soon. The hosts Australia and the visitors India will meet in the three-match T20I series, four-match Test series and three-match ODI series, starting on November 21.

Now, Channel 7 just recently announced their commentary panel for the new home season as the former Australian star cricketers Ricky Ponting and Glenn McGrath will lead at here along with Michael Slater, Brad Hodge, Damien Fleming, Simon Katich, Bruce McAvaney, Dirk Nannes, Lisa Sthalekar, James Brayshaw, Mel McLaughlin, Andy Maher and Abbey Gelmi.

Just prior to their new home season, Channel 7 announced their commentary panel with a promo video, where every commentator introduced themselves with the phrase, “Hold on — I’m coming”.  The promo has faced a huge criticism as news.com.au reported it, “While Aussie sport commentators are crying foul of the promotion designed to show-off Seven’s world class commentary team and its free-to-air coverage of the Aussie summer of cricket, it’s the Aussie cricket legends featured in the ad who are the real victims.”

After the huge criticism on their promo video, The Seven Network came with another promotional video that has finally extinguished the recent embarrassing condition.
