The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and their fans have waited for 12 seasons to win the silverware and the former Indian spinner, Pragyan Ojha feels their dream looks closer to becoming a reality in 2020. RCB has always had star-studded line-ups and have managed to reach the final thrice, including 5 play-offs berths. However, they have never managed to get their hands on the coveted trophy. 

Under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, RCB has been going through a dream run this season and their captain had phenomenal run in tge past few games as well. Having won 6 off their first 9 games, Virat Kohli and his men are standing at the 3rd spot on the points table and they are expected to reach the playooffs comfortably in this edition.

While their batting has been consistent over the years, their bowling unit has stepped up and delivered. With the likes of Navdeep Saini, Yuzvendra Chahal, Chris Morris, and Washington Sundar managing to come up with match-winning spells consistently, RCB has looked like an all-round unit. During a recent chat with Sports Today ahead of RCB’s crunch IPL 2020 encounter against Kolkata knight Riders in Abu Dhabi, Pragyan Ojha said big guns in the Bangalore-based franchise are finding form at the right time and these are the kinds of players who are hard to stop once they get going.

Ojha explained, “The way they are playing, I think they are very close to reality. Once these kind of players, like ABD (de Villiers), Virat Kohli and Chris Morris, once they get that flow and the start, they are different players. We have always spoken about the potential of this team, when they got going, they beat Mumbai, they beat DC — the top 2 teams. We shouldn’t take anybody lightly.”

Pragyan Ojha reckons that in IPL 2020, RCB is lookinh much more composed and are playing with a lot of clarity in their thought process. The Purple Cap winner said Mike Hesson’s appointment has been a big boost for the support staff is working wonders for the Bangalore-based franchise in IPL 2020.

Ojha elaborated, “I think they are much more composed. Their clarity of thought is very good, expect that one game. The one thing that they were lacking is the coach, they had the players all these years, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers. Mike Hesson has got that stability (they needed). They had most of their players earlier also. This year, their planning and the way they are going about their business is more mature.”

RCB registered a domnating win over KKR in the early-season encounter, thanks to AB de Villiers’s special in Sharjah. Kohli and his men would be looking to continue undefeated against KKR in this season on Wednesday as it would take them closer to the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
