After being put into bat, Punjab Kings put up a massive total of 221 runs for six wickets in their allotted 20 overs which came on the back of the captain KL Rahul, who played blistering innings, missing his century by just nine runs and Deepak Hooda, who has played a whirlwind knock of 64 off just 28 balls and left the opponent bowlers in pressure as well. For Rajasthan Royals, debutant Chetan Sakariya was the pick of the bowlers who finished with figures of three for 31.
“Deepak Hooda’s innings was amazing. That’s the kind of batting we want to see as a team. We want to bat fearlessly and take down bowlers. We have a lot of power in our line-up but we have been slightly tentative. It is important for us to bat fearlessly. It is great to see boys trying to understand what we expect,” said Rahul after the match.
