The comment, disguised as humour, took a personal dig and questioned Zinta’s involvement with the team in a manner she deemed sexist. Unwilling to let it slide, Preity responded with clarity and composure, highlighting how such remarks reflect women’s broader challenges, especially in male-dominated corporate and sporting environments.

“Would you ask this question to a male team owner, or is this just reserved for women?” Zinta replied on X. “I never realized how difficult it is for women to survive in corporate setups until I entered cricket. I believe I’ve earned my place after working hard for 18 years. Please give me the respect I deserve and stop with the gender bias.”

She further urged fans to reflect on the intent behind their words, emphasising that respect and equality must remain at the forefront of online and offline conversations.
