Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) made a strong statement in their IPL 2026 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, with their bowlers dominating the early proceedings. Choosing to field after winning the toss, LSG made three key changes, bringing in Manimaran Siddharth, Avesh Khan, and Digvesh Singh Rathi, while SRH included Liam Livingstone and Harshal Patel.

Prince Yadav set the tone in the very first over of his spell, striking in his third ball by dismissing SRH captain Ishan Kishan. Bowling a probing good-length inswinger, Yadav forced Kishan into a cover drive that left a small gap between bat and pad, allowing the ball to crash into the off stump.

This breakthrough added to SRH’s early woes, following the dismissals of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head in the first four overs. The wicket brought immense pressure on Sunrisers Hyderabad, as Lucknow’s bowlers maintained tight lines and lengths, exploiting the early movement perfectly.

M Siddharth complemented the attack brilliantly, showcasing sharp fielding and athleticism in key moments, including a remarkable low dive catch that removed Abhishek Sharma, further intensifying the SRH collapse.

Prince Yadav continued his impressive form from the tournament opener against Delhi Capitals, where he claimed two wickets for 20 runs. His ability to combine pace, swing, and accuracy has made him a consistent threat at the top of the innings, giving LSG an early advantage in the chase and setting the stage for a dominant performance.
