Travis Head has established himself as one of the most dangerous hitters in the IPL, playing a crucial role in SRH’s resurgence since 2024. Facing Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Head once again showed his aggressive intent, refusing to slow down despite SRH losing two early wickets.

The left-hander smashed 47 runs off just 28 balls, lighting up the stadium with three towering sixes and five fours. One of his standout moments came when he launched Avesh Khan for a breathtaking six over extra cover, signaling his intent to go big. However, just as he looked set for a significant knock, young Prerak Yadav, playing only his second IPL match, produced a dream delivery to dismiss the SRH opener in the eighth over.

Bowling a full delivery on middle stump, Yadav forced Head into a wild slog across the line. The ball sneaked through, crashing into the stumps and sending the LSG camp into jubilation. In contrast, SRH fans were left heartbroken, with one young supporter seen on camera nearly in tears after Head’s dismissal.

This wicket was a crucial breakthrough for LSG, as Head was beginning to take the game away from them. Earlier, Shardul Thakur had already provided a strong start with early wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan. With LSG desperate to register their first win of IPL 2025, this breakthrough has given them a real chance to chase down the target.

At the toss, Pant emphasized the importance of restricting SRH early, stating, “Doesn’t matter how many they score, we’re going to chase it down.” He also confirmed Avesh Khan’s fitness, which meant Shahbaz Ahmed missed out. Additionally, LSG brought in Abdul Samad as a bowling option, with M Siddharth making way for him.
