Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) silenced their critics with a stunning performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. While SRH have set expectations of posting 250+ scores, LSG’s bowling lineup has often been questioned. However, in this game, they turned the tables by claiming four early wickets, including Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Heinrich Klaasen.

Klaasen’s dismissal, however, was nothing short of bizarre and unlucky. The South African power-hitter was at the non-striker’s end when Nitish Reddy smashed a fierce straight drive during Prince Yadav’s over. The ball struck Yadav’s hand with brutal force and ricocheted onto the stumps, catching Klaasen short of his crease.

The impact was so intense that it left Prince Yadav in pain, clutching his hand in agony while his teammates celebrated the wicket. The young pacer seemed to have suffered significant damage, but the run-out proved to be a game-changing moment.

Heinrich Klaasen, who was looking dangerous with 26 off 17 balls, including two fours and a monstrous six, was left devastated as he walked back. His wicket put SRH in deep trouble, as they struggled at 183/9 after 19 overs.

At the toss, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant had confidently stated, “Doesn’t matter how many they score, we’re going to chase it down.” With Avesh Khan declared fit, Shahbaz Ahmed missed out, while Abdul Samad was brought in as an extra bowling option in place of M Siddharth.
