India’s youngest batting sensation and U-19 skipper Prithvi Shaw has signed a deal with MRF. The deal clearly means that the youngster will now sport the famous logo on his bat in the upcoming U-19 World Cup.
Shaw joins the elite pool of cricketers who have MRF on their bats, with the likes of Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar and Steve Waugh among the batsmen who have signed for the company before.
The U-19 captain has smashed 5 centuries in his first eight first-class games so far and slammed centuries on his Ranji Trophy and Duleep debut as well.
Speaking about the deal Shaw said: “I’m honoured & humbled to be playing soon with a MRF bat as I have grown up watching my idols like Sachin sir, Brian Lara sir & now Virat sir playing with them and scoring tons of runs & bringing laurels for our country. I am thankful to MRF for associating with me.”
Talking about the same, MRF chairman & managing director, KM Mammen, said: “MRF has always stood for excellence in sports. Having been associated with sports for decades we have always come forward to nurture special talents and provide all assistance for them to flower on the International stage. Our brand ambassadors have always shone in their careers and have enthralled audiences across the globe. We are delighted to be a part of Prithvi’s cricket journey and am sure his special talents will hold everyone spellbound in the coming years. We wish him all the very best and welcome him to the MRF family.”
Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, and AB De Villiers currently sport MRF’s stickers on their bats.
