Prithvi Shaw shrugged off the bad times behind and came good during the first One-Day International game against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Shaw stole the show with some sensational hitting while chasing the target and got India off to a flier and took the game away from Sri Lanka’s reach within no time.
Shaw scored stoke-filled 43 runs in just 23 balls, where he hit nine boundaries. He got out just in the sixth over and by then India had scored 58 runs and a majority of those came from his bat.
Shaw earned praises from all corners after his performance. Several former cricketers and pundits applauded his audacious hitting in the first ODI.

Meanwhile, he was also praised by his rumored girlfriend Prachi Singh. She put stories on her Instagram account while praising Shaw’s heroics of the first ODI.
Prachi put two stories on her social media account. The first one reads Prithvi’s stats while the other read “Well deserved”. The second image also comprised Prithvi waiting at the presentation ceremony to bag his man of the match award.

On the match’s front, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first. They huffed and puffed to 262/9 in the allotted 50 overs. Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal and Deepak Chahar grabbed two wickets apiece while the Pandya brothers managed one wicket each.

Shaw started the chase with a bang and scored several boundaries. After his dismissal, the debutant Ishan Kishan took over and scored a dashing fifty before getting out. Shikhar Dhawan, captaining India for the first time, batted sensibly and remained unbeaten till the end. He scored 86 runs as India chased the target with seven wickets and 80 balls to spare.
