Players are often seen appreciating each other for being honest on the field and Punjab Kings (PBKS) seamer, Sandeep Sharma did the same to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) opener, Quinton de Kock as the latter showed the spirit of cricket by walking off the field after nicking ball in the ongoing game at MCA Stadium in Pune.

The umpire didn’t give Quinton De Kock out after he nicked Sandeep to Jitesh Sharma, but the South African began walking after the appeal. LSG seemed to be in some trouble against Punjab Kings PBKS in Match 42 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

LSG was going decent at 89/1 at the end of 12 overs after Mayank Agarwal won the toss and asked them to bat. Skipper, KL Rahul departed early after scoring six off 11 balls but then, Deepak Hooda and Quinton de Kock came together to build a partnership.

The 13th oversaw excellent sportsmanship from the Quinton de Kock. Sandeep Sharma, who only conceded eight runs off his three balls, came into the attack to complete the quota. The fourth ball was slower outside off stump. De Kock tried to cut it, but the extra bounce got a nick from his bat, and eventually, the ball went straight to Jitesh Sharma’s big gloves.

Sandeep Sharma appealed for the catch, but the on-field umpire did not agree with him. However, Quinton de Kock had no hesitation in walking back to the pavilion without bothering about the umpire’s decision as he knew straight away that he had some bat on that. Sandeep appreciated de Kock’s gesture and pat him on the back.
