India managed to register a win in a tricky chase against Bangladesh on Day 4 of the final Test of the 2-match series, getting over the line by just three wickets on a pitch where Bangladesh spinners were making it difficult to score runs. The veteran Indian spinner, R Ashwin put in a match-winning performance, picking up six wickets and scoring a crucial 42* in the final innings of the match. He had the support of Shreyas Iyer, who played a match-winning knock of 29* off 46 balls to support Ashwin.
Speaking after the game, Ashwin revealed to Cheteshwar Pujara in a video shared by BCCI that he had told Iyer that they would get the job done. Praising Iyer, Ashwin said, “I thought Shreyas had really good composure today. Felt very calm and I told him that we will get it done. It doesn’t matter if we do it in 10 overs or if we do it after lunch.”
