On Saturday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the full-member India A squads for the upcoming five-match one-day series against the visiting side England Lions, starting on 23 January.
The Test vice-captain of the Indian cricket team, Ajinkya Rahane will lead the India A side for the first three games of the upcoming home one-day series while Ankit Bawne will lead the side in the last two games of the series. Also, Ishan Kishan will serve as the wicketkeeper for the first three games while Rishabh Pant will take the charge in the final two games.

Moreover, Shreyas Iyer, Hanuma Vihari, Krunal Pandya, Mayank Markande and Siddarth Kaul will feature in the first three games (including Rahane) while Ricky Bhui, Siddhesh Lad, Himmat Singh, Deepak Hooda, Rahul Chahar and Avesh Khan have been named as the replacement for the last two matches.

The BCCI press release also added, “Citing the importance of domestic cricket, the Senior Selection Committee has not included members from the teams that have qualified for the Ranji Trophy semi-finals.”

Also, BCCI announced the Board President XI squad for a two-day warm-up game against England Lions that is set to begin on 3 February. That warm-up will be played prior to the two-match unofficial Test series between India A and England Lions, starting on 7 February.
