Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is playing a do-or-die game against Mumbai Indians (MI) in Sharjah, but they seem to have completely lost the momentum. After winning the toss, Kieron Pollard asked MS Dhoni and his men to bat first. Rohit Sharma missed the game due to a hamstring injury and Saurabh Tiwary replaced him in the playing XI. The MI and CSK have often been termed as the el-clasico of IPL, but it started off on a one-sided note for MI.

Earlier in this season, Chennai had defeated Mumbai, but in the second game, they have been nothing short of disappointing. The team lost 5 wickets in the Powerplay for the first time in their history i.e. 13 years of IPL. This has been Chennai’s most embarrassing batting ever. The team had lost their first four wickets on the score of 4 runs. It was the second-worst performance.

Earlier in 2011, against the Deccan Chargers, Kochi Tuskers Kerala lost four wickets for 4 fell for 2 runs. The Royal Challengers Bangalore team lost 4 wickets for 5 runs in 2014 against Rajasthan in Abu Dhabi.

However, interestingly in the 7th over when CSK was already 5 down, MS Dhoni smashed a huge six over long-off against Rahul Chahar. He came down the track and tonked the quick leg break for a 85-meter long six. However, he lost his wicket on the very next delivery.

MS attempted to repeat the previous shot but lacked in feet movement but Chahar’s leg break spun just enough to catch the to-end. Dhoni started walking even before Quinton de Kock could gather it cleanly.

Here is the video of the six and the dismissal:

Eventually, CSK only managed to reach the total of 114/9 in their quota of 20 over owing to a brilliant half-century by Sam Curran.
