The celebratory moment captured Dravid standing up in the dressing room, visibly pumped up, as he greeted the two youngsters who displayed maturity and grit in steering India out of trouble. The coach’s animated celebration showcased the significance of the hard-fought win.

Starting the day at 40/0, India’s chase seemed on track with Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal contributing to a quick score. The opening pair added 84 runs before Joe Root’s breakthrough for England. Despite some setbacks, including the departure of Rohit Sharma after a half-century, the real challenge came when Shoaib Bashir dismissed Rajat Patidar, Ravindra Jadeja, and Sarfaraz Khan in quick succession.

Reflecting on the series, Rohit Sharma praised the team’s response to the challenges thrown at them. He acknowledged the composure and determination shown by the young players who stepped up in the absence of senior members.

“It’s been a very hard-fought series, so to come on the right side of it feels very good. A lot of challenges thrown at us, but we responded and were quite composed. These (youngsters) guys want to be here, growing up in the domestic circuit, local club-cricket, and coming here,” remarked Rohit Sharma in the post-match presentation.

Rohit specifically lauded Dhruv Jurel for his composure, calmness, and all-around batting skills. He emphasized the significance of Jurel’s crucial 90 in the first innings and his partnership with Gill in the second innings.
