The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli has made a comeback in the latest ICC top 10 T20I rankings for batsmen after he led the Indian team from the front in India’s 2-1 series victory over West Indies. Virat Kohli, who is the joint highest run-scorer in T20Is with Rohit Sharma, made 94* in the first T20I in Hyderabad before falling for just 19 runs in Thiruvananthapuram.

With the series on the line, Virat came out all guns blazing to smash an unbeaten 70 off only 29 balls. Not surprisingly, Virat was adjudged as the man-of-the-series for his sensational performance. Besides, Kohli has now taken a leap of 5 places to No.10 in the ICC rankings for T20I batsmen.

KL Rahul, who was named man-of-the-match in the Mumbai T20I, has also taken a jump of 3 positions to No.6 while Rohit Sharma, whose only significant score in the series also came in Mumbai, slipped one place to No.9. This has been another sensational year for the Indian skipper. Already the top-ranked ODI and Test batsman, Kohli is likely to finish 2019 as the leading run-scorer in international cricket for the 4th successive year as he has done the same in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Virat is the only batsman with averages of more than 50 in all 3 international formats. In 84 Test matches, Kohli has scored 7202 runs at 54.97. Moreover, in 239 ODIs, Kohli has smashed several records to score 11520 runs at 60.30. He has so far played 75 T20Is and has 2633 runs under his belt at an average of 52.66.

Talking about the final T20I, Rohit Sharma, Rahul, and skipper Virat Kohli hit 16 sixes in total as India posted 240/3 against the West Indies on Wednesday. Rohit (71) and Rahul (91) put on 135 runs for the first wicket to lay the platform for India’s imposing total. After Rohit Sharma’s fall, Kohli joined the party to flay the West Indies attack.

Sharma also became the first Indian batsman to hit over 400 international sixes with his first of five strikes over the fence. Rohit is now holding the record for the most sixes in international cricket in 2019. He tops the charts with 72 sixes and counting. Rohit held the record for most sixes in 2017 and 2018 as well with 65 and 74, respectively.
