Rahul Tewatia Lashed Out At Sai Sudarshan For Denying A Single

Gujarat Titans (GT) locked horns with the out-of-form Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the DY Patil Stadium and they have so far failed to play in their known demeanor against the Mayank Agarwal led side, at least in the first innings. GT have undoubtedly been the best overall side in the IPL 2022 so far and they are leading the charts as well in this season.

Having opted to bat first after winning the toss, GT failed to do well as their openers, Wriddhiman Saha (21 of 17) and Shubman Gill (9 of 6) departed early. It was then that Sai Sudarshan came in to give some momentum to their innings with his responsible knock of 65 off 50 and helped to reach a respectable total. However, he got quite the scolding from Rahul Tewatia for a mistake.

Rahul Tewatia was on strike on a particular over of Liam Livingstone when the incident took place. Tewatia played a loose shot towards the square leg and called for a run. However, Sai Sudarshan did not run and Tewatia had to return back even after having run quite the distance and he was lucky not to be run out.

This angered Tewatia and he was seen giving a stern stare to the youngster on the other end. It was probably because he might have lost his wicket and it was a possible 1 run.

However, it turned out to be the right decision for Sudarshan not to take any risk as he ended up being the highest scorer of the night for GT. Rahul Tewatia on the other hand had to depart soon after scoring just 11 off 13.
