Punjab Kings (PBKS) amassed as many as 221 for 6 wickets, after being asked to bat first in the fourth match of IPL 2021 against the Rajasthan Royals (RR). For Punjab, captain KL Rahul played a phenomenal knock of 91 runs before getting out in the final over, owing to a brilliant relay catch at the boundary by Rahul Tewatia. Apart from him, Deepak Hooda scored a quick knock of 64 runs from 28 balls.
Rahul hit 7 fours and 5 sixes off 50 balls and made a brilliant partnership of 105 runs for the third wicket off just 47 balls. PBKS skipper was looking good to score a century, but he was dismissed by the debutant fast bowler, Chetan Sakariya, who was bowling the final over of Punjab’s innings.
On the second ball of the final over, Rahul wanted to play for six runs over midwicket, but Rahul Tewatia dashed the Punjab captain’s plans. Tewatia caught the ball close to the boundary and when he noticed that his balance was deteriorating, he threw the ball inward before stepping out of the boundary. After this, he came back again and managed to catch the ball comfortably.

Earlier in the game, after winning the toss, the new RR captain, Sanju Samson choose to bowl on a typical Wankhede pitch. Mayank Agarwal fell early for 14 runs giving Chetan Sakariya his first IPL wicket and an amazing send-off as well.
Then Chris Gayle and KL Rahul then joined hands and added 67 runs in the next 7 overs. Gayle was looking set for a big one and RR fielding was making sure he continues to hit big shots, giving him a life as well. Rahul, on the other end, was looking as elegant as ever, holding one end up, but he kept on scoring at a brisk pace.
