Rajat Patidar became the talk of the town after playing one of the finest innings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history, especially in the playoffs. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter played a match-winning knock of 112 not out from just 54 balls in a stunning display of fearless big-hitting against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Eliminator. Patidar scored a century and it will be remembered by the RCB fans for the years to come. In the last 3 seasons, RCB won their first Eliminator games.
Now, RCB will be facing Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Qualifier 2 after eliminating Lucknow Super Giants from the tournament. However, Rajat Patidar was not initially supposed to be at the Eden Gardens as he went unsold in IPL 2022 auctions and he was scheduled to get hitched earlier this month, as per the reports of The New Indian Express. Patidar was roped in by RCB after an injury to Luvnith Sisodia for INR 20 lakh on April 3.
Explaining the same, Rajat’s father, Manohar Patidar said, “The plan was to get him married on May 9. It was supposed to be a small function and I had booked a hotel too in Indore.”

Rajat Patidar, who plays for Madhya Pradesh, will now be getting married to the girl from Ratlam in July after he completes his commitments with the state team in the Ranji Trophy knockout stages. Madhya Pradesh will be locking horns with Punjab in their quarter-final outing from June 6.
Elaborating the same, Rajat’s father said, “The marriage was not supposed to be a grand affair, so we didn’t get invitation cards printed. I have booked a hotel for limited guests but the booking has been advanced as we plan to hold the function in July once he is free from his responsibility with the Madhya Pradesh Ranji team.”

Heaping praise on Patidar, former captain Virat Kohli said the 112 not out is one of the finest knocks he has seen by a player in a big-ticket IPL match. Virat Kohli had said, “That was one of the best innings I have ever seen under pressure. And I have seen many. That level of striking, that is some batting level. Watch out for him.”
