Coming in at number 3 after PBKS elected to bowl first, the RCB stalwart displayed remarkable determination, particularly dominating PBKS leg spinner Rahul Chahar with a flurry of sixes in one over.

The fireworks unfolded in the eighth over when Patidar unleashed his power against Rahul Chahar, dispatching the ball straight into the stands at long off for a colossal six. Undeterred, he followed it up with another towering shot, sending the ball soaring deep into the long-on stands, a remarkable hit covering a staggering distance of 95 meters.

In a stroke of luck for Rajat Patidar, he received a reprieve when Jonny Bairstow grassed a catching opportunity in the same over. Seizing the chance, Patidar capitalized on the dropped catch by punishing yet another delivery, this time pulling it over deep backward square leg, the ball travelling an impressive 86 meters.

 

Rajat Patidar’s onslaught saw him plundering 18 runs off Rahul Chahar’s over, swiftly propelling his team’s run rate. Subsequently, he notched up his half-century in just 19 balls, sharing the crease with the unbeaten Virat Kohli, who himself was nearing a fifty.

Virat Kohli’s innings of 74 runs further exemplified his batting class, featuring an array of boundaries and towering sixes. Of particular note was Kohli’s remarkable one-handed shot in the seventh over, where he lofted the ball over mid-off for a maximum despite momentarily losing grip on one hand, a testament to his exceptional skill and timing.

Despite Rajat Patidar’s dismissal on the final ball of the tenth over by Sam Curran, RCB’s momentum remains strong, with Kohli leading the charge as they strive to set a daunting total against Punjab Kings in Dharamsala.
