Gujarat Titans (GT) players are currently enjoying a break as they will play their next game in the IPL 2024 on April 17 against Delhi Capitals (DC). The GT players are making the most of the week off as they decided to pay a visit to the forest as well. On Friday, Gujarat Titans shared a photo on Instagram where the Afghan trio of Azmatullah Omarzai, Noor Ahmad and Rashid Khan, accompanied by team director Vikram Solanki can be seen posing from the backseats of an open-roof jeep roaming around the forest lands.

The caption of the post read, “Exploring the forest like Titans”. The photo seemed to have been clicked by Australian pace bowler Spencer Johnson, who was attributed with the photo credits in the caption.

However, GT have done quite well since they made their IPL debut in 2022. In their maiden season, under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, GT won the title by beating Rajasthan Royals (RR) to become only the second team in IPL history to win an IPL title in their very first edition as well. Notably, they matched RR’s record, as RR had won the IPL in the inaugural season in 2008 as well.

In 2023, they made it to their second consecutive final as well. Unfortunately, they failed to defend the title as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won a last-ball thriller and clinched a joint-record fifth IPL trophy as well. However, this season, after Pandya’s trade to Mumbai Indians (MI), Shubman Gill was appointed as captain as well.

GT have played six matches, winning three games and losing as many as well. They won their opening game of the season against Mumbai Indians but then lost to the defending champions CSK. They bounced back to win their second match, beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets before falling to consecutive losses to Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants as well. On Wednesday, Tewatia and Rashid Khan pulled off a stunning win. They also broke RR’s unbeaten run to win by three wickets as well.
