The Afghanistan cricket team registered a dominating win against the Bangladeshi side in the first T20I of the three-match series. The match was the first international game at their home venue in Dehradun. The most surprising fact in the match was that the fans came out in the large numbers to watch the game despite the fact that it was not an India game. The star Afghanistani leg-spinner, Rashid Khan, thanked the fans for their support in the game.
After the game, Rashid took to social media to come up with a story thanking the Dehradun fans for their support. Earlier, even the Afghanistani skipper Asghar Stanikzai had thanked the crowd for their support in the game. In the match, the young leggie was the star performer for his team. He bagged two wickets on the first two balls of his spell. He accounted for the dismissals of Mushfiqur Rahim and Sabbir Rahman.
He eventually finished the game with the figures of 3/13 in the three overs that he bowled on the day. Rashid was awarded the Player of the Match for his heroics in the game. At the post-match presentation, Khan had credited the IPL for the success of the Afghanistani spinners.

Rashid elaborated, “It was about keeping everything simple, what I’ve done in last two-three months. I don’t have any specific plan. I keep it simple. Just to bowl little bit back of a length, not too full. I’m just enjoying myself, that is the key thing. It was a good surface, the ball was gripping, little bit dew was there. We have just played IPL. That’s the biggest stage. If you perform well there, it gives you the confidence.”
Here is what Rashid Khan had to say after the game: “First match MOM. Well done boys. Thanks to all fans in Dehradun who came in large number for support. Love you all,” Rashid Khan wrote in his social media update.
