The new entrant Gujarat Titans (GT) stalwart, Rashid Khan has been one of the most consistent performers for his team in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The all-rounder invented a shot, which he named ‘Snake Shot’, in which he whips the ball by going deep inside the crease and hits flat maximums.
The Afghanistan spinner has now said that he has often been asked by the fans about his snake shot and emphasized the fact that he wants to execute the unique shot during the IPL 2022 final between GT and Rajasthan Royals (RR). The ace all-rounder also revealed that he practices that shot a lot.
As per the quotes in India Today, Rashid Khan said, “I batted a bit higher than where I was batting before. The other thing is confidence. It is given by the coaching staff, the captain, and all the players. They believed I would be able to perform. That is the kind of energy you need as a player and that has been given to me.”
He further added, “There are more batting practice sessions for me, batting more than before and the belief that everyone has on me, that this guy can deliver and score some runs for the team, crucial runs. I always had that belief that I can score those 20-25 runs for the team at the end, if the team needs.”
Playing his fifth IPL season, Rashid Khan has emerged as a superstar in the toughest franchise-based league. In IPL 2022, Rashid is currently placed ninth in the list of the highest wicket-takers with 18 wickets. Apart from taking wickets quite consistently, he has been bowling economic spells as well as he has maintained a pretty miserly economy of 6.73.
As mentioned above, the Titans will take on the Royals from Rajasthan in the final match of the tournament. The match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on May 29 (Sunday). Both teams will want to give their full eff0rts and lift the cup.
