Veteran Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan has recently celebrated his 23rd birthday with his Sunrisers Hyderabad teammates in the UAE on Monday. However, he got a cake facial from his teammates in the SRH team hotel as well.
However, Sunrisers Hyderabad has said that it’s a tradition that is going on and Rashid Khan was happy as he was smeared with cake all over his face by the players like – Khaleel Ahmed and Abhishek Sharma. Notably, the birthday cake was designed in the shape of a cricket ball and Sunrisers Hyderabad shared the photos on Monday.

“The tradition continues. The #Risers were there to ensure @rashidkhan_19 was the victim of a cake facial on his birthday,” SRH posted on social media with this caption.
On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s former captain David Warner has pulled Rashid Khan’s leg with a cheeky comment on the post while wishing him on his birthday. “Happy Birthday @rashid.khan19 19,” Warner wrote.
"This is how we celebrate as a team"

Meanwhile, his Afghanistan and SRH team mate Mohammad Nabi also wished him with “Happy birthday Shenwari mama,” comment.
However, Rashid Khan is currently preparing for the rest of the IPL 2021 after having a stunning show for Trent Rockets in the inaugural edition of The Hundred competition in August. He picked up 12 wickets in 8 matches and finished as the joint-highest wicket-taker in the tournament as well.

However, Rashid Khan was in fine form in the first half of IPL 2021, claiming 10 wickets in 7 matches. He will try to maintain his form as Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to bounce back as they had a poor run in India earlier this year as well. They managed to win only 1 match out of 7 in the first phase of IPL and are placed at the bottom of the points table as well.
