The Afghanistan leg-spinner who has already taken giant strides in the Cricket World is now aiming to be successful at Cricket’s highest level. Afghanistan is slated to make their Test Cricket debut in the next month against India at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. On a pitch that suits spin bowling, Rashid Khan will be the spearhead of the Afghan attack.
The 19-year old is already playing Cricket all over the world. He has so far played for Adelaide Strikers (AUS), Afghanistan Under-19s, Band-e-Amir Dragons, Kabul Eagles (AFGH), Comilla Victorians (BAN), Guyana Amazon Warriors (WI), Quetta Gladiators (PAK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (IND).
The youngster has already had a stellar start to his career. Rashid is currently ranked number one in T20Is while is at the number two position in ODIs. In the 29 T20Is that he has played, he has managed to pick up 47 wickets with the best figures being 5/3. He has already picked up 100 wickets in ODIs in just 44 matches.

Now with Afghanistan, all set to play the Test match against India, Rashid is excited to get himself in the Test mode. According to Sportsarlive, Khan was quoted as saying, “It will be a big day for cricket in Afghanistan. I’m really waiting for it. I can’t wait to be called a Test cricketer. That means a lot to us. I don’t think there will be anyone back home not watching that game. People in Afghanistan are crazy about cricket.”
Rashid Khan is an unusual leg-spinner. He is somewhere between the slow massive spinner Shane Warne and quick non-spinner Anil Kumble. He bowls quick and gets to the ball to spin enough to fool the batsman. His variations are yet to be deciphered by batting community.

Spin will be Afghanistan’s strength in June, Khan says, while the fast bowling and batting need improvement. A great deal will depend on him, though, as it always does any time he comes on to bowl, for any side.
