Rashid Khan is the new top-ranked ODI all-rounder; Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan climb up in batting

The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the new ODI rankings where Afghanistan cricketer Rashid Khan becomes the top-ranked ODI all-rounder while the Indian opening batsmen Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan both climbed up in the ODI batting rankings.

While the Indian skipper Virat Kohli is leading the ODI batting rankings, the opener Rohit Sharma climbed up his career-best second position in the ODI batting rankings and another opener Shikhar Dhawan climbed up to the four slots and finished at the fifth position in the ODI batting rankings.

In the recently concluded Asia Cup 2018 in UAE that India finished as the champions, both Dhawan and Sharma finished as the top two runs scorers. While the left-handed batsman Dhawan scored a total of 342 runs with the average of 68.40, Sharma scored 317 runs with the average of 105.66.

On the other hand, the in-form Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim, who finished as the third most run-scorer (302 runs) in the Asia Cup 2018, also moved up his career-best 16th position in the ODI batting ranking.

Meanwhile, Indian left-arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav climbed up his career-best third spot in the ODI bowling ranking. While the Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is leading the table, followed by the Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan is in the second position, Yadav is in the third position who finished as the joint most wicket-taker (10 wickets) along with Rashid Khan and Mustafizur Rahman. Mustafizur also moved up the four places as he is standing at the 12th position.

But the main point of the latest ODI rankings was – Afghanistan sensational Rashid Khan becomes the new leader in the ODI all-rounder ranking. He displaced the Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and becomes the first Afghanistan player and 32nd overall to lead the ODI all-rounder ranking. Apart from taking joint most wickets (10 wickets) in the Asia Cup 2018, Khan also scored 87 runs with the average of 43.50, including one match-winning half-century against Bangladesh in the group stage.
