On Friday, Afghanistan allrounder Rashid Khan hilariously emulates Australian cricketer Steve Smith’s famous leave during The Ashes 2019. During the lockdown period, cricketers are keeping their spirits high by interacting with fans on social media and being more active.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) shared the video on Twitter and captioned it as, “Who wants to join @rashidkhan_19 for a game of indoor cricket? Imitations only! #OrangeArmy #SRH #StayAtHome #StaySafe.”

The Royals responded to the video, the franchise which Smith leads in the cash-rich Indian Premier League. “So we’re not the only ones missing @stevesmith49?”, the tweet read.

Smith and Rashid would have been plying their trades for their respective IPL team if not for the coronavirus pandemic. The sporting calendar has been left shattered by the coronavirus outbreak as the number of positive cases continues to rise with every passing day.

Meanwhile, the IPL, which was scheduled to commence on March 29 has been postponed till April 15 and is highly unlikely to take place under the current scenario where the number of coronavirus positive cases is on the rise. is not expected to commence this month if the situation is not under control after the end of the current 21-day long lockdown imposed by the government.

There have been more than 2,500 positive cases of coronavirus patients in India. There have been more than 70 people who have died due to the novel virus in the country. However, the IPL Franchisees are making sure that the fans get something to savor during this time.
