Afghanistan cricket stars Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi have strongly condemned the recent airstrikes in Kabul, which reportedly led to significant civilian casualties. The incident, which has triggered widespread concern, saw more than 400 Afghans lose their lives, while over 250 others were injured following bombardment on a drug rehabilitation facility.

Reacting to the tragic developments, Rashid Khan expressed deep anguish over the loss of innocent lives. The Afghanistan all-rounder called for accountability and stressed that targeting civilian infrastructure cannot be justified under any circumstances.
“I am deeply saddened by the latest reports of civilian casualties as a result of Pakistani airstrikes in Kabul. Targeting civilian homes, educational facilities or medical infrastructure, either intentional or by mistake, is a war crime,” Rashid Khan posted on X.

He further highlighted the emotional and humanitarian impact of the attack, especially given the timing during the holy month.
“The sheer disregard for human lives, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, is sickening and deeply concerning. It will only fuel division and hatred. I call upon the UN and other human rights agencies to thoroughly investigate this latest atrocity and hold the perpetrators to account. I stand with my Afghan people in this difficult time. We shall heal, and we will rise as a nation. We always do. Inshallah!,” he added.
