Royal Challengers Bengaluru pacer Rasikh Salam delivered a crucial breakthrough for his side by dismissing the dangerous Cameron Green during the IPL 2026 clash against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Wednesday. After winning the toss and opting to field first, RCB made early inroads before Green walked in at No. 4 with KKR placed at 48/2 in the fifth over.

The Australian all-rounder once again showcased his value in the middle order, stabilising the innings with a composed knock of 32 runs off 24 deliveries. Green mixed caution with aggression and looked set for a bigger score as he stitched together an important partnership with Angkrish Raghuvanshi.

However, Rasikh Salam turned the game back in RCB’s favour with a superb delivery in the 13th over. After conceding a boundary off a low full toss on the opening ball of the over, the young pacer responded brilliantly. Rasikh bowled a clever cross-seam length delivery that skidded sharply off the surface. Green attempted to work it across the leg side but completely misjudged the pace and movement as the ball crashed into middle stump.

The dismissal ended a valuable 68-run stand between Green and Raghuvanshi for the third wicket. Green has been one of KKR’s reliable contributors this season, scoring 264 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 145.05.

Following the wicket, Rinku Singh joined Raghuvanshi in the middle and helped Kolkata regain momentum with an aggressive counterattack. The pair added a quickfire 56-run partnership off just 33 deliveries to keep KKR in a strong position during the death overs.

At the time of writing, KKR were 172/3 after 17 overs, with Raghuvanshi unbeaten on 68 off 43 balls and Rinku Singh batting on 32 from 20 deliveries. Rasikh Salam finished with figures of 1/35 from his four overs and continued his impressive IPL 2026 campaign, taking his tally to nine wickets in eight matches.
