Ravi Bishnoi made a significant contribution to the Indian team’s early success in the ongoing first T20I against Australia. The two teams are currently locked in battle in the first game of the five-match series at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Opting to bat first, India faced some initial pressure from Matthew Short and Steve Smith, who provided Australia with a solid start. They skillfully exploited the batting conditions and executed some impressive shots. However, Ravi Bishnoi’s introduction into the attack effectively slowed down the scoring rate.

Bishnoi delivered a brilliant wrong ‘un that deceived Matthew Short, resulting in the first wicket for India. During the fourth ball of the over, the leg-spinner tossed up a skillfully disguised delivery. The batsman attempted to play over mid-wicket with the spin, but he missed the ball entirely, and it crashed into the off-stump.

Short departed with a score of 13 runs off 11 balls, including three fours. His dismissal left Australia at 31/1. However, Josh Inglis has since taken charge against the bowlers, putting the Indian team under pressure.

Here is the video of the dismissal:

Josh Inglis, who struggled for form during the World Cup 2023, has made a strong comeback in the T20I series. His impressive innings has ensured that Australia maintains a brisk scoring rate, keeping the run rate above 8. India’s decision to include five left-handers in their top seven has raised eyebrows, with Shivam Dube the unfortunate one to miss out on the XI.
