On Wednesday India captain Virat Kohli led the wishes on Twitter for the Indian team head coach Ravi Shastri celebrated his 58th birthday.
Virat Kohli heaped praise on Ravi Shastri for being “brave” enough to guide Team India. He wrote, “Many seem confident but only a few are brave. Happy birthday Ravi Bhai. God bless.”

The International Cricket Council shared Shatri’s career record statistics as a way to wish the Team India coach. “Happy birthday to former all-rounder and current head coach of India,” the ICC said on Twitter.

Various Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises like Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore also wished Ravi Shastri a very happy Birthday. Indian Cricketing Legend Sachin Tendulkar also wished Ravi Shastri on the occasion. Ravi Shastri took the time to respond back and thanked the master blaster for the wishes.

Ravi Shastri has featured in 80 Tests scoring 3830 runs for India. Averaging 35.79, he has 11 centuries and 12 fifties to his name in the longest format of the game. Moving onto the limited-overs, Shastri has amassed 3108 runs in 150 ODIs accumulating four centuries and 18 fifties in the process.
Shastri has also picked up 151 Test wickets and has 129 dismissals in ODIs to his name.

Shastri has often been a part of India’s dressing room. He briefly served as the Cricket Manager in 2007 for the Indian team. After that, he was BCCI’s team director for the (2014-2016) season. Later on, he was appointed the head coach of the Indian team for 2017-2019. He was retained as Team India head coach in August last year for a two-year period. His tenure with the Indian team ends after the 2021 T20 World Cup in India.
