The meeting in Mumbai is also set to witness talks between International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Shashank Manohar and the BCCI’s top officials over tax waiver worth USD 22 million for future global events and proposals on anti-doping policy. As per the reports of Mumbai Mirror, the CoA will be addressing a few issues in the meeting and one of them is the contract of the current coaching staff. The contracts of head coach Ravi Shastri took over in 2017 after Anil Kumble stepped down amid controversy.

Mumbai Mirror’s report suggested that the CoA reckons that the coaching staff members have done a ‘reasonably good job’ as India have done well across formats in recent times, winning series across formats overseas. The team has achieved quite a few memorable firsts in last one year, including beating Australia in Test series in their den. In 2018, Team India had won the Asia Cup followed by a thumping win against the Windies at home in all formats. The season though ended with three consecutive losses against New Zealand (T20Is) and Australia (T20Is and ODIs).

Shastri reportedly told Johri that he has a plan in place for the team for the T20 World Cup. Besides, the remaining schedule of the Indian Premier League (IPL) kicking off on March 23 is also likely to be announced after the meeting.
