Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are all set to return in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League with the game against Delhi Capitals (DC). After having a poor season last year, they are hoping to start the campaign against Delhi Capitals with a win at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. However, the second clash of this season is going to be yet another blockbuster with MS Dhoni and Rishabh Pant against each other as well.
However, like others, Team India head coach Ravi Shastri too expressed his excitement as the two wicket-keepers are going to take on each other. He took to Twitter and wrote: “Guru vs Chela. Bahot Maza aayega aaj (it’ll be great fun tonight). Stump Mic suniyega zaroor (do listen to the stump mic) #DhoniReturns #Pant #IPL2021 #DCvsCSK – @ChennaiIPL @DelhiCapitals”.
While referring to the former India captain MS Dhoni as the guru (mentor) and Rishabh Pant as his chela (disciple), his request to the fans, where he urged to listen to the stump mic during the match made everyone laugh. His comments came as both Dhoni and Pant are quite vocal behind the stumps as they constantly try to help out the bowlers. While Dhoni is more on discussing strategies with his bowlers, Pant has a different way out to interact from behind the stumps which bring him in the limelight as well.

However, excited to play against his mentor Dhoni, Pant said that it will be a “good experience” for him as he has learnt a lot from MS Dhoni. However, he also feels that it is equally important for him to use his own experience in his game and do well against the three-time IPL title winner.
“My first match as captain will be against Mahi (MS Dhoni) bhai. It will be a good experience for me as I have learned a lot from him. I have my own experience as a player as well… I’ll apply my own experience and the learnings from MS Dhoni, and try to do something different against CSK,” Rishabh Pant was quoted as saying in a Delhi Capitals’ press release recently.
