The Indian cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri has recently claimed that the former Indian World Cup-winning captain and the present Indian limited-overs wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni is a super-cool cricketer. He further added that Dhoni is such players who only come once in 30 or 40 years.

Prior to the three-match ODI series against the hosts Australia, Dhoni was under pressure for his poor ODI forms in the last year where he had the average of 25.00 and he hadn’t any 50+ knocks.

However, the 37-year-old has returned to his familiar batting form at the very beginning of the New Year (2019) as he played three half-century knocks in the first three ODI of the year. While the visiting side India won the ODI series in Australia by the 1-2 margins, Dhoni won the Player of the Series award after scoring 193 runs with the average of 193.00.

Talking about Dhoni, the Indian head coach claimed that he is cooler than the legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

Recently, Shastri told the ‘Daily Telegraph’, “He is a legend. He will go down as one of our great cricketers. I have never seen an individual so sound. I have seen Sachin at times get angry. Not this man.

“You can’t. Such players only come once in 30 or 40 years. That is what I tell Indians. Enjoy while it lasts. When he goes you will see a void that will be very hard to fill.”

Shastri is also confident on the new young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant’s future, who follows MS Dhoni and keeps in touch with him for most of the times.

Recently, the former English skipper Michael Vaughan asked Shastri if Pant could be the next Dhoni in the upcoming 20 years.

Shastri replied, “I would love to. He has the talent. His hero is MS. Every day he is on the phone to MS. I think during the Test series he must have spoken more to MS than anyone else.

“That is because he has the best angle. He sees things. He is great with the guys, they all worship him. This entire team has been built by him because he was captain for 10 years. To have that kind of respect in the dressing room and experience is massive.”

Shastri has amazed on Dhoni’s culture, who hardly reacts on anything or any results. The head coach also pointed out that Dhoni hasn’t given any interview since 2011.

Shastri quoted, “Whether he gets a zero, gets a hundred, whether he wins the World Cup or loses in the first round, MS is the same man. He is simply consistent with his body language and composure. It amazes me how he does it. Since 2011 he has not given one interview.”
