India’s head coach Ravi Shastri paid a visit to the famous Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday ahead of the final T20I between India and New Zealand on Tuesday. The coach spent quality time at the famous Temple in the morning and also finished customs before joining his boys at the team hotel.

MS Dhoni’s batting position will be under the spotlight as the men in blue ate aiming to win the series against a gutsy New Zealand in the third T20I despite the chances of a rainstorm during the match. The series is locked at 1-1 and just like the preceding Australia T20I series, where the series decider T20 at Hyderabad was a washout, there are chances that the series decider game against the Kiwis could meet same fate according to the rain forecasts by the Meteorological Department.

Indian team under the leadership of Virat Kohli has been playing some quality cricket in recent times but it was the New Zealand side that gave them some stiff resistance as they are known to pull out something from nothing every now and then.

The city of Thiruvananthapuram will be hosting an international match after a gap of around 3 decades and it has become all the more notable after calls for Dhoni’s retirement from the shortest format gaining momentum.

However, there were also some suggestions that Dhoni might be suited at the No. 4 position in case India lose early wickets as it will give him time to settle down. The Indian team’s batting performance was one of contrast in the first two games.

They outplayed New Zealand in the first T20I by 53 runs and then they were defeated by 40 runs in the second game where the Indian batsmen failed terribly to chase down the target of 197 runs.
