Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin expressed his admiration for Suryakumar Yadav’s signature scoop shot during the nail-biting third T20I between India and Australia at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. India, batting first, found themselves in early trouble as they lost Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan cheaply. However, skipper Suryakumar Yadav stepped up, absorbing the pressure and entertaining the crowd with his array of shots.
One of Suryakumar Yadav’s early sixes particularly caught Ashwin’s attention. Facing a delivery from Nathan Ellis, Yadav got down low, watched the ball carefully, and used the pace to paddle it over long leg for a maximum. The ball sailed over for the big six, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

Ashwin, taking to his social media account, heaped praise on Suryakumar Yadav for the exceptional stroke, acknowledging that even after watching it numerous times, it still gives him a thrill. “I have watched him play this shot so many times but the thrill it gives me while I watch it is the same every single time,” he wrote.

Suryakumar Yadav continued his stellar performance, batting magnificently to ensure India didn’t face undue pressure. The Indian captain, who had scored 80 runs in the first game, delivered another blistering knock for his team.

However, Suryakumar Yadav’s stay at the crease was cut short by Aaron Hardie. The pacer bowled a short-length delivery that hit the deck hard. Yadav swiveled across and attempted to swing, but he was early on the shot, and the ball caught a big edge on its way to the keeper.
Despite his dismissal, Suryakumar Yadav had scored 39 runs off 29 balls at a strike rate of around 135, including 5 fours and 2 sixes. His innings provided India with a much-needed boost as they chased down Australia’s challenging total of 186/7.
