Ravichandran Ashwin is not a part of the squad in the Australia series. He is given a rest along with Ravindra Jadeja from the ongoing series but that doesn’t leave him behind from giving a perfect gift to one of his ardent followers in Chennai.

He made sure that his fan got to see the first ODI between India and Australia live from  M.A Chidambaram Stadium. Not only that but Ashwin gave him the chance to meet the Indian and Australian players. Such a perfect and beautiful gesture from the Indian spinner.

P. Venkateshano is one of the biggest fans of Ashwin and is suffering from a kidney ailment.  He will undergo a transplant surgery in November this year with his sister ready to donate her kidney to him.

Speaking about Ashwin’s help to TOI, the 43-year-old Venkateshan said “I have only viewed from the galleries. Thanks to the efforts taken by Ashwin’s management team, I am watching the game from the hospitality box. For someone like me it’s a once-in-a-lifetime event. I will never ever forget the courtesy extended by Ashwin,”.

Ashwin said,“we are definitely not doing this for publicity. It is the part of our endeavor at The Ashwin Foundation to put a smile on faces. Every request or friendly demand cannot be met with a positive response but we do the best we can. Venkat is a genuine cricket lover and this is the least we could do for him.”

Such gestures from cricketers towards their fans are really praiseworthy and coming up for a man with a poor health condition is a true act of humanity by the bowler. Ashwin is presently paying county cricket and will preferably be back on the Indian side soon.
