Team India is gearing up for its next challenge against New Zealand, following a successful series against Bangladesh. Having secured victories in both the two-match Test series and the three-match T20I series, Rohit Sharmaโ€™s squad is now set to face New Zealand in a three-game Test series. The first match will be held at Bengaluru’s iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium, starting on October 16.

Ahead of this crucial series, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) shared a clip on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing the teamโ€™s practice sessions. The video captured several Indian stars working hard in preparation for the upcoming Test matches.

Among the highlights of the footage was veteran all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin, who shared his thoughts on the nature of Test cricket and its significance for the team.

“Test cricket is always about adaptability,” Ravichandran Ashwin remarked in the viral clip. “You can’t approach day five the same way you do day one. Each day presents new conditions, and that’s why they say Test cricket is the pinnacle of this sport.” His insights resonated with fans, emphasizing the strategic depth and challenge that Test cricket demands from players.

India’s recent triumph over Bangladesh, with victories in Chennai and Kanpur, has further cemented their position atop the World Test Championship (WTC) standings. Out of 11 Tests played, India has won eight, lost two, and drawn one, amassing 98 points. However, despite their strong performance, a spot in the WTC final is not yet secured.

To guarantee their place in the summit clash, India must defeat New Zealand in the three-match series and secure at least one win in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. The pressure is on, but India’s form and determination suggest they are up for the challenge.
