There is no denying the fact that cricket has been the most followed sport in India. In the 90s, there was a fierce rivalry between batsmen and bowlers and more often than not, the latter used to dominate the game and the batsmen found it really hard to go about their business. Over the years, the ICC has been working towards maintaining the balance between the bat-ball, but they ended up deducing the game to fans can enjoy batting than bowling.
In recent times, ICC has been some rule changes that make it quite tough for the bowlers to express themselves. Earlier, bowlers used to decimate the batsmen with reverse swing type of deliveries, but with two new balls now, bowlers find it hard to reverse swing the balls. Back in 2018, legendary Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar, and Pakistan bowling great Waqar Younis spoke about the disadvantage of using 2 new balls from both ends in ODI cricket.

Meanwhile, the veteran Indian spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin reacted to the reverse swinging deliveries of former Pakistan fast bowler, Wasim Akram. It all started when a Twitter user posted the video in which Wasim Akram can be seen delivering some lethal reverse swing balls. The brilliant video clip caught the attention of the premier off-spinner as he decided to react to the video. The veteran off-spinner was all praises of ‘The Sultan of Swing’ Wasim Akram.

Ashwin quote tweeted the video of Akram bowling with the old white leather in an ODI game against New Zealand. In the video, the latter kept the opposition batsmen guessing the way the ball will move by bowling superb deliveries. On the other hand, the Kiwi batsmen were finding it difficult to negotiate with the deliveries. Akram was reverse swinging the ball in the 44th over the game.
