The post, made by an X user, suggested that Ashwin had inside knowledge of Rohit’s long-term ODI plans and Kohli’s intentions to step away from cricket to focus on family.
Speculation about Rohit and Kohli’s future in ODIs has been brewing, especially since both stalwarts bid farewell to T20Is following India’s World Cup triumph last year. The trending tweet had quoted Ashwin to say, “As far as I know, Rohit is eyeing the 2027 ODI World Cup, and you might witness Virat Kohli retiring shortly because he needs to spend more time with his young family. That’s what Virat talked about with me a few months ago.”
