In the 43rd over of the Bangladesh innings, he took a stunning catch at point to dismiss veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim.

Rahim tried to guide the ball towards the boundary, but Jadeja flew through the air and plucked it out of thin air. The catch was so good that even Rahim was left in disbelief. After taking the catch, Jadeja celebrated in his signature cheeky fashion by gesturing to the best fielder’s medal. And to his surprise, that is exactly what he received at the end of the day.

India’s fielding coach T Dilip came into the locker room after the match to congratulate Jadeja and award him the medal. This is a tradition that Dilip himself started to recognize and appreciate the work being put in by the fielders.

“I started this tradition to motivate the fielders and to let them know that their work is appreciated,” Dilip said. “Jadeja took a brilliant catch today, and he deserves the award.” Ravindra Jadeja was delighted to receive the award. “It is an honor to receive this award,” he said. “I am glad that my fielding is being appreciated. I will try my best to continue to contribute to the team in the field.”

Jadeja’s catch was a highlight of the day, but it was not the only one. He also bowled brilliantly in tandem with Kuldeep Yadav to help India restrict Bangladesh to 256/8 in 50 overs. India then chased down the target with ease to make it four wins out of four in the tournament.
