The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper, Eoin Morgan is going through a rough patch with his bat in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Despite a formidable team, and an explosive batting line-up, KKR has suffered losses in 3 games out of the 4 matches so far. KKR’s fortunes didn’t change after moving out from the slow pitch in Chennai to the flat batting-friendly track at the Wankhede as they suffered an 18-run loss against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

KKR’s margin of loss could have been much worse, but thanks to the late blitz from Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik, and Pat Cummins against the CSK bowlers helped the team to recover from 31/5 in a chase of 221. On the other hand, CSK, after losing their first game has now won three consecutive games and is on top of the points table.

Ravindra Jadeja, who has once again been a crucial part of CSK’s success, was seen having fun after the win on Wednesday. His teammate and batting mainstay, Suresh Raina posted a story on Instagram, where the all-rounder is seen emulating Eoin Morgan’s batting stance in the dressing room. Jadeja tapped the bat hard, similar to that of the KKR skipper and he almost perfectly imitates Eoin Morgan’s low crouch down, as the KKR skipper always does before facing the delivery.

Playing against Kolkata Knight Riders, CSK was at their fluent best as they produced a stunning show in all three facets of the game. Put to bat first, the CSK batsmen made the most out of the flat surface of the Wankhede Stadium as they managed to post a huge target of 220 runs on the scoreboard.

Faf du Plessis was the highest run-getter for the Yellow Army with his sublime knock of 95* off just 60 deliveries. He was aptly supported by Ruturaj Gaikwad who played a fiery knock of 64 runs. Chasing 221, KKR got off to a torrid start as Deepak Chahar bowled a brilliant spell with the new balls and he scalped as many as four wickets in the powerplay. His exploits resulted in the opposition reeling at 31 for 5. In the end, the Super Kings managed to have the last laugh as they won by 18 runs.
