India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja once again grabbed the spotlight in IPL 2026, this time with a fiery celebration after dismissing Jos Buttler during the Rajasthan Royals’ high-stakes clash against the Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday. The experienced left-arm spinner struck at a crucial moment in the 14th over, just when Buttler looked set to accelerate alongside captain Shubman Gill.

Attempting to clear the boundary off Jadeja’s bowling, Buttler mistimed his shot and was caught comfortably by Donovan Ferreira in the deep, departing for 13 runs. What followed instantly became one of the match’s talking points. Jadeja pulled out his now-famous “pocket celebration,” placing his hand inside his pocket while staring towards the departing Buttler.

The gesture, which fans interpreted as Jadeja suggesting the batter was “in his pocket,” quickly went viral across social media platforms. This was not the first time Jadeja used the celebration during IPL 2026. Earlier in the season, he performed a similar send-off after dismissing Nicholas Pooran in the Rajasthan Royals’ clash against the Lucknow Super Giants.

Interestingly, Jadeja has enjoyed a strong record against Buttler in T20 cricket over the years. Across 12 innings, Buttler has scored just 82 runs from 66 balls against the veteran spinner while being dismissed three times. Jadeja’s disciplined middle-over bowling has consistently prevented Buttler from dominating the scoring rate.

Despite Buttler’s early dismissal, the Gujarat Titans still managed to post a commanding total of 229/4. Gill led the charge with a superb 84 off just 44 deliveries, smashing nine boundaries and three sixes. Meanwhile, opener Sai Sudharsan continued his excellent IPL 2026 form with a fluent 55 off 36 balls.
The duo added a brilliant 118-run opening partnership after the Gujarat Titans were asked to bat first, putting the Rajasthan Royals’ bowling attack under immense pressure in a crucial playoff race encounter.
