The three-time champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) witnessed a phenomenal start to their innings after choosing to bowl first in the ongoing match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After Deepak Chahar removed Mayank Agarwal in the fourth ball of the innings, CSK soon got the prized wicket of Punjab skipper, KL Rahul owing to a brilliant thrown by Ravindra Jadeja.

KL Rahul, who scored 91 in Punjab’s first match, hardly opened his account before walking back. Chris Gayle, who was on strike for the 5th delivery of that over, was hit on the pad. With the ball pitched outside leg and going toward the ball pinged to short over, he set off and Ravindra Jadeja fired the ball towards the stumps and hit the bullseye as KL Rahul found himself short of the crease at the striker’s end.

The Super Kings made an outstanding comeback after Gayle smacked the first Deepak Chahar’s first couple of balls for a boundary. Meanwhile, both the teams remained unchanged for the game. Chennai Super Kings would be desperate for a victory after losing their opening game to the Delhi Capitals in Mumbai by seven wickets. On the other hand, Punjab Kings overcame Rajasthan Royals’ captain Sanju Samson’s blistering century to win a high-scoring game by four runs at the Wankhede Stadium in their inaugural game.
