Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja recently met Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his wife Rivaba Jadeja, who serves as Gujarat’s Minister for Tribal Development and for Primary, Secondary and Adult Education. The meeting took place in New Delhi on Tuesday and quickly caught the attention of cricket fans after Jadeja shared moments from the interaction on social media.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Jadeja posted pictures from the meeting and described it as a “privilege and honour” to interact with the Prime Minister. He spoke about being inspired by Modi’s clarity of thought, enthusiasm and commitment to excellence, adding that it was a valuable learning experience to witness leadership at the highest level.

The post drew warm reactions from fans, many of whom praised the veteran all-rounder for representing Indian cricket with humility and grace off the field. The meeting came at a significant time in Jadeja’s career.

For the 2025–26 season, he remains one of only three players to be placed in the top Grade A category of the BCCI central contracts, alongside Shubman Gill and Jasprit Bumrah. The recognition underlines Jadeja’s continued importance across formats, especially in Tests and ODIs, where his all-round impact remains vital for India.

Ravindra Jadeja, however, has stepped away from T20 internationals following the retirements of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from the shortest format. As a result, he is not part of India’s squad for the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026 being co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Despite that, his presence in the leadership group and red-ball setup continues to be highly valued.

The latest central contracts also reflect a shift in the BCCI’s structure. The A+ category has been discontinued, while Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been moved to Grade B after retiring from Test and T20I cricket. In total, 30 players have been awarded contracts this season, down from 34 last year. With emerging names breaking through and a few established players missing out, the contracts list signals a transitional phase for Indian cricket, even as senior pros like Jadeja remain key pillars of the setup.
