Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has the opportunity to reclaim his no.1 ranking in bowling and all-rounder categories ICC Test rankings. Jadeja was at the numero uno position following India’s win against Sri Lanka in the Test series away from home earlier in the year.

Since then, Jadeja has been overshadowed by Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan in all-rounder rankings while England’s James Anderson surpassed him after their win over West Indies at Lord’s. the southpaw is now standing at the 2nd position in both standings and thus can reclaim the top spot from the two players.

Virat Kohli, on the other hand, will be looking to get back into the top 5 of the batsmen rankings as he is trailing behind the fifth-placed David Warner by just one point. However, even if Virat does manage to pip Warner, it might not last for very long as the Australian deputy skipper will play in the Ashes that starts on November 23. Ravichandran Ashwin will also be looking to boost his chances of improving on his no. 4 ranking in the bowling rankings.

India’s 3-match Test series against Sri Lanka starts on November 16 with the first Test being played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Earlier, India visited Sri Lanka and whitewashed the hosts in the 3-match series.
