The flamboyant Indian all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja avoided “disaster” as he pulled a stunning running catch off Ravichandran Ashwin’s bowling to send back Matthew Wade in the ongoing second Boxing-day Test match on Saturday. In the 13th over of the game, Ashwin beat Wade in flight as the Australian opener mistimed a lofted shot.
Shubman Gill and Jadeja both went charging for the catch and ended in a collision, but fortunately for India, Jadeja kept his eyes on the ball and managed to hold on to the catch. Cricket Australia took to Twitter to share the video of the catch and captioned it as “Almost disaster! But Jadeja held his ground and held the catch!”

Wade kept playing his shots but as soon as Ajinkya Rahane decided to hand the ball to Ashwin, the left-handed batsman looked a bit dodgy in his approach.
Ashwin managed to get the wicket of Wade and then in his next over he also managed to get teh prized wicket of the veteran batsman, Steve Smith, the number one ranked Test batsman, for a duck, who has a tendency of playing big knocks against India.
