The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially confirmed that the veteran all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja will be missing the first couple of ODIs against West Indies due to an injury sustained in the right knee. The announcement was made on BCCI’s official Twitter handle while India is locking horns with the West Indies in the first of three ODIs in Port of Spain.
West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran won the toss and decided to bowl first in the series opener. Shikhar Dhawan, who is leading the Indian side in the absence of Rohit Sharma, had confirmed earlier that Ravindra Jadeja had a niggle and was missing from the playing XI in the first ODI against Pooran’s side. The young Caribbean skipper suffered a blow ahead of the game as well, as he revealed that the returning Jason Holder has tested positive for Covid-19 and hence is unavailable for the opening game.
