India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the upcoming tour of South Africa and as per the reports, he is likely to be sidelined for a long time as well. And, he is expected to be out of action for 6 months due to his knee injury.

Meanwhile, one of his teammates has revealed to Dainik Jagran that Jadeja is thinking of hanging his boots from the longer format of the game to prolong his career in shorter formats. He wants to play in ODIs, T20Is, and IPL now as well.

However, on Wednesday, Ravindra Jadeja posted a picture of him in the whites and captioned it as, “Long way to go”. His post clearly suggests that he will continue playing in the longest format of the game.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has also announced the squad for the upcoming Test series during the South Africa tour scheduled to be starting later this month. Surprisingly, Jayant Yadav has been retained in the Test team as Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out. Hanuma Vihari will also be making a comeback to the Test squad along with Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul as well.

On the other hand, Mayank Agarwala and Shreyas Iyer have also been retained a place in the squad for their stunning performances in the recently concluded two-match Test series against New Zealand at home. Wriddhiman Saha and Rishabh Pant are the two wicket-keepers in the Indian team for the squad Africa series.

And, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patek, Shubman Gill, Rahul Chahar will not be taking part in the series as they are sustaining injuries and their following rehabilitation as we. However, Rohit Sharma has now been appointed as the captain of the Indian ODI team replacing Virat Kohli and he will be the deputy of the Test team as well.
