India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja turned heads on Day 2 of the second Test against England—not just with his bat, but with an unexpected wardrobe malfunction that left fans in stitches at Edgbaston. Coming off a commanding first-innings performance, Jadeja once again proved why he’s the world’s top-ranked Test all-rounder. He stitched a mammoth 203-run stand with skipper Shubman Gill, showcasing his typical grit and flair.

With a positive approach and counter-attacking strokes, Jadeja kept England’s bowlers under pressure. He reached his fifty in 80 balls and appeared well set for a deserved century. However, his quest for three figures ended in disappointment. On 89, Jadeja was castled by Josh Tongue in the 108th over—a fine delivery that zipped through the gate. His innings, laced with 10 boundaries and a six, played a crucial role in India posting a massive total.

While Jadeja’s batting was a serious affair, the second innings brought a moment of unexpected comedy. During the second over, bowled by Mohammed Siraj, Zak Crawley nudged a ball toward Jadeja at backward point.

As Ravindra Jadeja sprinted and slid to stop the ball, he accidentally pulled his trousers down in front of a packed Edgbaston crowd. The crowd erupted in laughter, and even some players couldn’t hide their smiles as the moment went viral instantly.

Sky Sports’ Mark Butcher acknowledged England’s effort with the ball, despite the flat pitch. “Stokes will be pleased. His bowlers toiled hard on an unhelpful surface, and they’ve done well to keep India under 600,” he said.

Kumar Sangakkara echoed that sentiment, saying England would feel upbeat heading into their batting innings. “This is as good a surface as you could ask for. And with no Bumrah in India’s lineup, England will back themselves to put on a strong reply,” he added.

From anchoring a long partnership to accidentally entertaining the crowd, Jadeja once again proved he can make an impact in more ways than one—whether through his bat, his fielding, or even his trousers.
