The veteran Indian all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Riva has been summoned by the Jamnagar Court on Tuesday regarding the allegation on her for the 2018 police assault case. Following an incident, she had assaulted a policeman. She and her mother have been summoned for the final time by the court. There has been no official statement as such from the mother-daughter pair despite being asked to show up at court multiple times earlier.
The incident occurred at the Saru Section road in Jamnagar when Riva was driving and she eventually hit a two-wheeler of the police constable, who proceeded to attack her. A witness claimed that the cop ‘thrashed Rivaba brutally’.

Luckily enough, the rider of the motorcycle, Preeti Sharma didn’t suffer major injuries and was rushed to the hospital by Jadeja. She received the treatment and was discharged soon after.
Meanwhile, Jadeja received a promotion to No. 5 in the absence of Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav. He grabbed the opportunity with both hands and proceeded to play the role of the finisher perfectly in the second game against Sri Lanka. Speaking after the game, Jadeja thanked the skipper, Rohit Sharma for the chance.

Jadeja had said, “Yes, I’m enjoying batting at number five. I can take my time and I can pace my innings according to the situation. I would like to thank Rohit because he trusts me and he believes in me that I can go out there and score runs for my team. So hopefully whenever I get an opportunity in the future I’ll try and do my best, play according to the situation, and be in the game for my team.”
The 2-match Test series between India and Sri Lanka is scheduled to be commencing on March 4 in Rawalpindi.
